User Interviews are an integral part of many types of research for many professionals. It takes time to prepare and to do actual interviews and it defiantly takes a lot of time to analyze and summarise insights from User Interviews.

Step 1: Record User Interviews Using TL;DV
Record your user interview using TL;DV. Add it to your Google Meets or Zoom and it will automatically take notes of interviews. After the user interview is finished you will get a high-quality transcript that you will be able to use in your analyses.
Step 2: Setup OpenAI Account
Create an OpenAI account and create your API Key. You can use it for free as long as you are using your personal not work email.
Step 3: Setup Google Sheets
Copy/Paste the script into Google Sheets and install the extension “GPT for Google Sheets”.
Step 4: Let AI Do The Work
So now you are all set up and ready to use GPT3 to help you analyze and summarize your user interviews. For it to work you need one column with prompt “instructions” and you need to use the GTP function. First, write “=gpt(” then select your prompt, and after selecting the user interviews you want to analyze, hit enter and wait a few seconds for magic to happen.
Thats it! You can play with instructions and see what insights AI can extract from your user interviews. I had good results using “What are the key insights from participant answers? Use bullet points.” I am telling AI to use bullet points for answers to be organized and easy to read.
